A New Era of Specialist Beauty in Perth
If you’ve visited Atholl Street recently, you’ll have spotted the bold, eye-catching pink exterior of The Waxologist and Tailored Beauty – two independent salons redefining the beauty experience in Perth.
Together, beauty therapists Debbie Cameron-McPhee and Michelle Taylor bring over 20 years of professional expertise to their clients, creating a unique destination where bespoke treatments, expert care and a calm, welcoming environment meet – all under one roof, but through two separate doors.
After years working in busy high-street salons where hair, beauty, waxing and nails competed for space, Debbie and Michelle recognised a gap in the Perth market for truly specialist services. Their vision was simple: to offer focused, high-quality treatments delivered by experts in a relaxed, tailored setting – without the noise and distractions of a traditional salon.
From the outset, setting up their new premises was a leap into the unknown. With no prior experience of leasing commercial property, they turned to Next Law for advice and guidance. We were delighted to help them navigate the process, explore their options and set out a clear plan to bring their idea to life.

“We’re essentially two sister salons offering two very different beauty experiences, but we’re right next to each other,” explains Debbie.
“As The Waxologist, I specialise in advanced skincare – from facials through to dermaplaning and waxing – while Michelle at Tailored Beauty offers bespoke nail and brow treatments and hair extensions.”
Their complementary approach ensures clients can choose the experience that suits them best – whether that’s a focused skincare treatment in a peaceful, spa-like environment, or a vibrant, feel-good space for a glamorous nail, brow or hair appointment.
“We didn’t feel Perth offered anything quite like this,” says Debbie. “There were no salons dedicated solely to waxing, for example. We wanted to focus on what we’re highly trained in and deliver the absolute best service possible for our clients.”
Supported from the Start
“It was a stressful and emotional time setting everything up, and I won’t forget how well Next Law handled things,” Debbie adds. “Not only were they empathetic and calm, but they were also incredibly efficient – getting everything done in half the time we expected.”

“Clients can expect two distinct atmospheres,” Debbie explains. “Michelle’s side is vibrant and upbeat – perfect for getting your nails, brows or extensions done and feeling glam. My salon has a more calming, spa-like feel where clients can relax and talk through their needs in a private, soothing space.”
